All Terrain Wheelchair for Wounded Veterans                            Source:  Dean Kamen & Mobius Mobility Creation of Segway Inventor Dean Kamen New Hampshire based inventor Dean Kamen, famous for his Segway scooter, has created a new version of his iBOT personal mobility vehicle:  an all terrain wheelchair to provide mobility to wounded veterans. On this Memorial Day, he is engaged in a national bus tour to bring iBOT wheelchairs to Veterans Administration medical centers.  It's called the Operation Mobility Tour. Operation Mobility Tour The tour will make stops at 25 VA medical centers specializing in spinal cord injuries by the end of the summer.  50 wheelchairs are being donated to the medical centers: one for training and a second for a wounded veteran.  This effort is a partnership between the non-profit SoldiersStrong and Mobius Mobility, which is the company behind the iBOT. Highly Advanced Technology Unlike a standard wheelchair, iBOT uses highly advanced technologi

Elon Musk's Flying Tesla

Upcoming Roadster with SpaceX Rocket Thruster Package Option Can Briefly Fly                                                       Source:  Tesla Source:  Tesla CEO Elon Musk & Flying Cars Tesla CEO Elon Musk says his Tesla Roadster, to be released in 2022, is a flying car when coupled with his SpaceX Rocket Thruster package option.  However, it flies for just a few seconds.  The SpaceX rocket thruster option package equips the electric sports car with ten, cold air, rocket thrusters strategically positioned around the vehicle.  The configuration enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 1.1 seconds.  That level of acceleration is historic and a record breaker.  Musk says the speed sensation is similar to that of a hardcore roller coaster.  He says "it's safe but very intense and not wise for those with a medical condition." A Flying Tesla that's No Joke The fact that Musk has created a car that can briefly fly is ironic because he has traditionally jo

Flying Boat Could Stop Venice Sinking

From Sweden, Candela Hydrofoil Speed Boat                                        Sweden's Candela Speed Boats Electric, No Waves, No Erosion in Venice  Sweden's Candela speed boats are an electric, no wave creation, no erosion, no emissions, electric different kind of boat.  They are being deployed in the historic Venice canals.  Historic parts of the city of Venice are in danger of sinking because of the "moto ondoso" effect of motorboats creating waves that erode and damage historical buildings.  The Candela speed boats creates no waves to erode or damage buildings or the coastline.  They operate on hydrofoils. Hopefully, they will make a strategic difference to preserve Venice. Significant New Technology Candela is a floating hydrofoil boat.  The hydrofoils on this watercraft act like underwater wings.  The wings lift the hull of the boat above the water and into the air.  They cut water friction by 80%.  The result is a boat that cruises at long distances, using e
