Israeli Startup Air's Flying Car Working with FAA For US Takeoff  Israeli startup Air  just revealed a 2 seat, electric "flying car" eVTOL designed for personal travel and recreation.  With collapsible wings, it can fit in a garage, so there's no need to rent hanger space. Air hopes to start selling the vehicle to shuttle passengers by 2024.  The company has smartly jumpstarted the process by working directly with the FAA for two years on licensing and regulations to ensure that it is safe and legal.  Air anticipates that the vehicle will first be sold in the US. Cutting Edge Aviation Software With a maximum speed of 150 mph and a flying range of 110 miles, the Air One is equipped with a "fly by intent" software control system that makes flying accessible and easy.  Cruising speed is 100 mph and maximum payload is 441 pounds.  It takes one hour to charge the aircraft.  Maximum flight time is one hour.  Air emphasizes this is a personal flying...

Super Sponge Absorbs Water from Air

New Hydrogel Collects & Cleans Water from Air Solar Powered Water Harvester This is new innovation from engineers at the University of Texas Austin.  It's a hydrogel powered by the sun that is able to collect, harvest and clean a lot of water from the atmosphere.  And it doesn't matter if the air is dry or humid. Super Sponge The "super sponge" absorbs moisture from the air, stores it and then releases it after being exposed to natural sunlight for five minutes.  According to the team, the hydrogel can  produce 50 liters of water per kilogram of hydrogel. They believe it can replace key components in current solar powered water harvesters. Super Gel The material is a gel polymer hybrid that passively absorbs moisture from the atmosphere and returns it as clean, usable water.  There are 50,000 cubic kilometers of water in the atmosphere.  The new system could tap into that and lead to small, inexpensive and portable filtration systems....
