Wrong Way Meteorite- Grazing Fireball

Image
Skies Light Up Over Western Australia Source:  Australia's Desert Fireball Network Streak of Light the Width of Texas  The celestial event, called a Grazing Fireball, happened over Western Australia. The meteorite that blazed over the night skies took a highly unusual path.  For a minute and a half it burned, carving an arc of blazing light as wide as the state of  Texas, then it faded away and took back off into space.  It's being called the meteorite that ignored the one way signs of our Solar system. On to Jupiter What's incredible is this meteorite didn't disintegrate in our atmosphere or crash to Earth.  After the light display faded, it took off back into space.  According to Australian astronomers and scientists, who have just released their findings on the event, that happened in July 2017, the wrong  way meteorite is headed to Jupiter They say, the likely arrival date is 2025. Blazing Speed This is an e...

Superconductivity in Space

Superconducting Material Discovered in Meteorite Super:  Mundrabilla Meteorite First Evidence of Superconductivity in Space There is superconductivity in space naturally occurring.  That's the shocking discovery just made by scientists at the University of California San Diego.  The UC team led by Dr. Ivan Schuller found trace amounts of superconducting material in one of the world's largest meteorites, Mundrabilla that landed in Australia. It weighed 22 metric pounds and broke into pieces on impact.   The superconducting material found in Mundrabilla is a known alloy of indium, lead and tin.  But the fact that it is contained in a meteorite came as a shock.  This is the first evidence of superconductivity in space.                                                                  ...

Exciting Discovery on Moon's Far Side

China's Chang'e 4 Lunar Rover Find Source:  China Lunar Exploration Project Unusual, Gel-Like Substance China's Chang'e 4 lunar rover has discovered an unusually colored, gel-like substance in its exploration of the far side of the Moon.  The rover named Yutu-2 made the discovery on what the Chinese are calling lunar day 8. Scientists at the Beijing Aerospace Control Center changed the rover's itinerary to focus its instrumentation on the substance found in a small crater.  The material's color and luster is unlike anything surrounding it on the lunar surface. What Is It? The big question remains what the substance is.  Thus far, Chinese scientists haven't offered any explanation.  Other experts theorize that it could be melted glass from the collision of a meteorite with the Moon's surface. Lunar Mystery Chang'e 4 made the world's first soft landing on the far side of the Moon on January 3, 2019.  It's exploring the dark side ...
