Holland's PAL-V                                                        Source:  PAL-V Authorized on Roads in the Netherlands The world's first commercial flying car - the PAL-V Liberty made by Dutch company PAL-V - has been approved for use on roads in the Netherlands.  The Liberty is a gyrocopter.  Rotors on the top of the vehicle provide it lift to fly.  The rotors are powered by a separate propeller engine in the back of the vehicle.  Liberty can hover like a helicopter but it doesn't take-off and land vertically like a helicopter.  It needs a runway of at least 590 feet to gain speed for take-off and 100 feet of runway for landing. Drive & Fly Time The Liberty can drive up to 99 mph on the road and when flying has a maximum speed of 112 mph.  Switching from the driving to the flying...

World's 1st Camera System to Spot Drivers Handling Mobile Phones Source:  Sydney Highways Stock Image New South Wales Using Tech to Cut Road Fatalities Australia's state of New South Wales, where Sydney is located, today rolled out new technology along the roads to cut fatalities caused by distracted drivers on mobile phones.  They're deploying high definition, AI-enabled detection cameras to spot drivers handling their mobile phones, which is illegal in New South Wales (NSW).  45 portable cameras, including fixed and mobile trailer mounted cameras, are being set-up in undisclosed locations.  Authorities believe that within two year the surveillance system will cut the number of fatalities on its roads by one-third. This HD, AI camera system tech and application are a world first. 24-7 Roadside Detection The high tech cameras work day, night and in all types of weather to detect if a driver going by is handling a mobile phone.  The cameras use artifi...

Noninvasive Brain Computer Interface

World 1st:  Mind-Controlled Robotic Arm Continuously Tracks & Follows Computer Cursor Source:  Carnegie Mellon & University of  Minnesota Breakthrough Technology This is very exciting breakthrough technology.  Engineers from Carnegie Mellon and University of Minnesota have invented a non-invasive, brain-computer interface (BCI).  It's an EEG cap that enables a person to control a robotic arm simply by their thoughts.  The control over the robotic arm is very sophisticated.  Through the person's thoughts, the robotic arm can continuously track and follow a computer cursor.  No surgery and no brain implant are required. Head Cap - Noninvasive Robot Device Control The team has developed an EEG head cap that can detect signals deep in the brain.  These signals of information and commands are clarified by new, novel sensing and machine learning techniques that the team invented.  This is also the first, noninvasive robot de...
