A World of Sprayable User Interfaces Source:  MIT MIT's Sensor Inks for Your Interactive Life Researchers at MIT, along with scientists  from the UK, have developed a brand new technology that they're calling a sprayable user interface.  These are sprayable  sensors with conductive ink that, for example, would enable you to touch the arm of your chair to change the channel on television.  This unique user interface can work on just about any surface, including wet,  outdoor surfaces, rough and curved surfaces. Comcast's New AI Algorithm Monitors Your Pet Source:  Comcast "Pet Filter" For pet lovers, if you worry about what your dogs or cats are doing when you're away at work, Comcast has just unveiled advanced technology.  Comcast has created its own AI algorithm to zero in on pet activity.  They call it the Pet Filter.  The company says it something different from other solutions commercially available.  It detects anything from a dog sitting still to one running outside 30 feet away. Spot On Xfinity Pet Camera The new system "Pet Filter" is for Comcast Xfinity Home security cameras, which are part of the Xfinity Home Platform. The filter enables the system to detect pets in video clips and allows customers to check their pet movements. The system's cameras and continuous video recording service are able to zoom in on pet activity.  When pet motion is detected, it creates a smart thumbnail image, allowing the customer to find it quickly and easily...

New Joint Company Source:  Toyota Manufacturing in Japan "Connected" Services for Homes & Urban Development Two of Japan's global technology giants - Toyota and Panasonic - are joining forces to provide technology solutions for smart, connected homes.  The announcement deepens the partnership between the two companies.  In January, they announced a joint venture to build electric vehicle batteries for the growing electric vehicle global market. Personalized Smart Home Services This latest venture will focus on developing technology to offer personalized services in the home.  It will be a 50-50 partnership and the new company will be set up in  early 2020.
