 "Connected" Services for Homes & Urban Development
Two of Japan's global technology giants - Toyota and Panasonic - are joining forces to provide technology solutions for smart, connected homes.  The announcement deepens the partnership between the two companies.  In January, they announced a joint venture to build electric vehicle batteries for the growing electric vehicle global market.

Personalized Smart Home Services
This latest venture will focus on developing technology to offer personalized services in the home.  It will be a 50-50 partnership and the new company will be set up in  early 2020. The announcement underscores the importance and market potential of smart, connected homes.

Netting a Drone - US Army Countermeasure

US Army Invention - Drone Defense Source:  US Army Drone Netting Device Drone Netting Grenade U.S Army researchers have created a 40 mm grenade to protect the armed forces from menacing, enemy or rogue drones.  The defensive drone grenade takes out the drone with a weighted net. Countermeasure - Net Bagging a Drone The net is spring loaded and ejects from the front of the grenade when it nears the drone target.  The net can be triggered remotely by a person on the ground or automatically by an onboard proximity sensor.
