Alice is Successfully Test Flown                                             Source: Eviation Green, Zero Carbon Emissions Flying Alice, an all-electric 9-passenger, commuter plane, has successfully completed its first test flight.  The zero-carbon emissions aircraft, being developed by Washington state based Eviation, is targeted to service commuter and cargo routes between 150 and 250 miles. The e-plane has a flying range of 288 miles on a charge.  Alice is not just an electric plane prototype.  There are already significant sales orders for it, including from regional air carrier Cape Air, which operates out of Cape Cod, Massachusetts and national package carrier DHL. Alice isn't on a drawing board.  The e-plane has 92 orders from regional US air carrier Cape Air that serves primarily the Northeast US, logistical giant DHL Express for a dozen aircraft and others.  Eviation expects to deliver its first aircrafts to first buyer Cape Air. On Display at Paris Air Show Source:  Eviation's Alive at Paris Air Show, June 16, 2019 Massachusetts Based Cape Air is First Commercial Customer A notable new aircraft is on display at the Paris Air Show.  It's the creation of Israeli startup Eviation.  Called Alice, the plane is all electric and seats nine passengers.  And it already has secured its first commercial customer - Massachusetts based regional air carrier Cape Air. Cape Air Cape Air, which flies routes in the US and Caribbean, intends to purchase a "double digit" number of the $4million aircraft for its fleet.  It expects to put them into service in 2022.  Alice can fly 650 miles on its batteries, reach an altitude of 10,000 feet and a cruising speed of 276 mph.
