DELOREAN MAKING A COMEBACK

The Delorean Alpha 5 EV                                                        Source:  DeLorean - New & Old New Electric Sports Car It was more than 40 years ago, in 1975, that the glitzy, avantgarde Delorean DMC hit the global automotive market.  The vehicle was nothing less than an automotive trailblazer of a sports car with its stainless-steel body, gull wing doors and flashy futuristic design.  Now, four decades later, the DeLorean sports car is being reborn as the DeLorean Alpha 5 EV concept car.  It has the classic gull wing doors but everything else is new, all electric and zero emissions.  The vehicle will be unveiled in August by the new DeLorean Motors which is owned and operated by British automotive mechanic Stephen Wynn in Humble, Texas.  The original DeLorean Motors, founded by automotive legend John DeLorean, went out of business in 1982. Joby Wins 1st FAA Flying Certificate                                             Source:  Joby Aviation One Certificate Done & Two More to Go California-based flying taxi startup Joby Aviation is one big step closer to takeoff.  It just received its Part 135 Air Carrier Certificate from the FAA.  It is a major milestone for the company.  It means that Joby can begin operating its air taxi service.  But to legally fly passengers, it needs to secure two more certificates.  It must be awarded a Type Certificate from the FAA which declares that the company's eVTOL meets the Agency's design and safety standards.  It also needs to secure a Production Certificate when it is ready to start producing eVTOLS.  With those three certificates, Joby can start legally flying passengers in its air taxis.  Tech Specs and Performance Achievements Joby's S4 is a 6 rotor eVTOL or all-electric vertical take-off and landing vehicle.  It set an eVTOL global speed record this year when it flew

From the Netherlands: the Squad                                        Source:  Squad Mobility A Car That's Electric, Solar Powered & Inexpensive Dutch startup Squad Mobility has created a truly revolutionary driving machine.  It's a tiny, all electric, solar powered microcar called the Squad and it is inexpensive at $6,500 or it can be leased for $104.00 per month. It's not a concept car.  It can be ordered and will be available in 2023.  The EV has a range of 62 miles.  In Europe, it's classified as a L6e vehicle, which limits its top speed to 28 mph.  This new class of electric vehicle, that looks like a golf cart, was just unveiled at the Fully Charged Live electric vehicle show in Amsterdam, yesterday. World's 1st Transcontinental Light Jet                                                       Source: Honda Another Aircraft From Honda Honda is renowned for its automotive, motorcycle, power equipment, robotic technologies and now its aviation technology.  The Japan based multinational conglomerate has just unveiled its HondaJet 2600 concept.  It's the world's first transcontinental light jet and it's designed for coast to coast flights.  The aircraft's range is 2,625 miles and it can carry a pilot and eleven passengers.  The original HondaJet, that was certified for flight in 2015, has been very successful for Honda.  More than 200 planes have been sold.  With the Concept 2600, Honda wanted to build a bigger aircraft for longer haul flights. Concept Car With 497 Mile Range on a Charge                                                  Source:  Renault Future of Sustainable Driving Hydrogen power is clearly a part of the future of sustainable driving.  French automaker Renault has just unveiled an awesome hydrogen powered concept car.  It's called the Scenic Vision and is powered by a hydrogen engine, electric motor and a battery fuel cell.  There is a 2.5-liter hydrogen tank on the front of the vehicle.  The tank takes only 5 minutes to fill. The car's 40-kilowatt battery is recyclable.  Renault, which is owned by Nissan, says that Scenic Vision represents part of the company's longer-term vision of the future of sustainable driving and will go into production in 2030. In the meantime, an all-electric version of Scenic Vision will go into production in 2024.
