 European Union's Latest Findings on Climate Change Source:  Climate Change Stock Image Temperatures & Severe Weather Rising   The European Union's Copernicus Earth observation service says that global temperatures in 2019 were the highest on record and tied  2016 for that dubious distinction.  Also, 2010 - 2019 was the hottest decade ever. And, the pattern continues to escalate.  Europe, the Arctic and southern Siberia experienced their hottest year ever in 2020.  All experienced extreme heatwaves and fires.  In the US, the rising temperatures in 2020 caused 22 distinct disasters, including wildfires and hurricanes, resulting in $95 billion in damage.  Big Bucks to Back Green Energy & Climate Projects                            Source:  European Union & Renewable stock "Green Roadmap" to Greener Environment Europe is putting big money behind its .commitment to a greener future.  European Union governments have approved $1.2 trillion in funding, which they call a "green roadmap" for the European Union's lending.  This new funding plan will stop financing of fossil fuel projects and move the lending over to green projects, such as renewable energy.  It's the European Investment Bank's Climate Bank. $1.2 Trillion For This Decade The $1.2 trillion in funding will be spent by 2030.  All the financing activity will be in sync with the Paris Climate Accord goals. Looking to Invest Billions Source:  ESA Satellite New Tech, New Satellites, New Innovations The European Union is accelerating the investment of more money into its space explorations, satellite communications and rocket launches.  Europe and the European Space Agency (ESA) have been very successful in space.  They want to increase their efforts and keep pace particularly with the US and Chinese space programs.  This, according to European Commissioner Thierry Breton in a conversation with Reuters. Electric Mini Production Starts in UK in Late 2019 Source:  BMW's Mini Electric Delivery in Spring 2020 BMW is kicking off its fully electric vehicle offensive with its Mini Electric.  The new iconic electric Mini will be manufactured at its British factory outside of Oxford starting later this year and will be available to customers in Spring 2020. Electric Vehicle Commitment BMW says  by 2023 it will have 25 electric models on the market.  Half of which will be fully electric.  In their electric offensive, BMW is two years ahead of schedule.  The Mini Electric is their leading edge with a range of 144 miles per charge and a top speed of  93 mph.  BMW plans to manufacture the vehicle in the UK for domestic and global distribution.
