CHICAGO's IN THE FAST LANE ON eVTOLS

Image
3 Weeks of Testing Are About to Begin                                   Source: Eve and Heliport Chicago Chicago's Vertiport and Embraer's Eve eVTOLS Are Center Stage Here's some very exciting news concerning the future of air taxi travel that is getting a lot closer.   Chicago is leading the way to the future of travel by air taxi eVTOLs, or electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicles.  Brazilian-based aviation leader Embraer and its Eve eVTOL division will perform their first, flying taxi simulations in North America starting on September 12th and lasting for three weeks in the Windy City.  For the simulation of routes, operations, etc., Eve will use traditional helicopters that will give a real-world sense of what it would be like in a big city like Chicago with flying taxi eVTOLs operating as a commuting choice.  Vertiport Chicago, which is a ten-acre facility f...

Hot eVTOL Company - Embraer's Eve

Embraer's Eve Has Order Backlog of 1,785 eVTOLs                                        Source:  Embraer's Eve Green, Zero Emissions Urban Air Mobility Brazil's aviation giant Embraer has a very hot eVTOL flying taxi subsidiary, Eve Urban Air Mobility, which is doing record business.  Eve, headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, FL, has an order backlog of 1,785 eVTOLs or electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicles.  That big backlog amounts to $5.4 billion in flying taxi orders.  And, at the 2022 Singapore Air Show, the backlog got bigger.  Eve has signed a number of new deals to make its eVTOLs operational in Australia by 2025.  Western Australia air charter companies Aviair and Helispirit, which specialize in scenic charter flights, have ordered 50 Eve eVTOLs.  Melbourne based helicopter company Microflite ordered 40 Eve eVTOLs....

Global Development of Electric Aircraft

US-Based MagniX and Brazil's Desaer Partner on Electric Aircraft                                             Source:  Desaer and MagniX E-Plane Uses Significantly Less Fuel With Reduced Emissions An important, global partnership has been announced in the development of electric powered aircraft.  Everett, Washington based MagniX and Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Desaer have formed a partnership to develop a hybrid electric plane for regional commuting.  The plane will be an electric hybrid version of Desaer's ATL-100 regional aircraft.  The hybrid electric propulsion system is being developed by MagniX.  The environmental importance of this new aviation technology is significant.  The companies say the new plane will operate with 25 to 40% less fuel consumption depending on the range. Big Fuel and Emissions Savings The new hybr...

New Urban Air Mobility Revolution

Eve-Senna Air Taxis from Embraer                                             Source:  Embraer New, Sustainable Air Mobility Commutes Starting in Brazil Embraer is one of the world's most innovative aviation companies.  Headquartered in Brazil, it is working on changing forever urban air mobility into a sustainable and affordable new mode of travel.  Embraer's subsidiary Eve Air Mobility is partnering with Senna to develop an F1 inspired air taxi.  It's an eVTOL (electric, vertical takeoff and landing) flying taxi named Eve-Senna.  The first locus of operation is Brazil and Rio de Janero. Rio is one of the world's most congested and busiest cities.  Eve-Senna's main goals are to democratize flying taxis by making travel in them inexpensive and accessible. Another key player in the development project is Helisud Aviation, which is ...

Embraer's Low to Zero Emissions Planes

4 New Breakthrough Green Flying Concepts                                                  Source: Embraer Sustainable Flying Takes Off Brazilian based aircraft manufacturer Embraer has introduced 4, low to zero emissions aircraft designs that it is calling "new disruptive green technologies" for sustainable flying.  The planes are small prop driven design concepts.  They are called the Energia line and offer four options with variable flying approaches. All 4 approaches offer very low to zero carbon emissions. Embraer says they are developing these planes as small models from 9 to 50 passengers.  But they add that the new planes can later be scaled up into much larger planes. Breakthrough Green Aviation Technology The new plane concepts include: The Energia Gas Turbine which can carry 50 passengers and is powered by hydrogen or s...

EMBRAER'S PLANE+CAR EVTOL - FLYING CAR

Image
Wild, New Pulse Concept Source:  Embraer Electric, Autonomous, Unique Transportation System Embraer's Pulse Concept electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicle (EVTOL) centers around a smart glass passenger pod that seamlessly transfers the occupants between the plane and the car for flying and driving modes.  This is a first of its kind transportation system that links autonomous land and flying vehicles with a central passenger pod.   It is a unique and highly creative new concept that provides a fascinating look at the future of transportation and the futuristic types of travel models that could be in use within 45 years. Paired Autonomous Vehicles The Design Ops team at Brazilian based Embraer created the Pulse Concept for Embraer's 50th anniversary as an aircraft manufacturer.  Pulse Concept is a pair of autonomous vehicles that travel on land and in the air without the passengers ever having to get out of the central pod. The pod moves to the vehic...

New Sat Surveillance of Amazon RainForest

China-Brazil Earth Observation Satellite Watching Amazon Rain Forest Source: Satellite Image of Amazon Fires Bi-lateral Cooperation to Help the Environment This is bilateral collaboration on a jointly developed satellite by Brazil and China, an earth observation satellite to monitor the Amazon Rain Forest. The sat was launched today and the Chinese-Brazil satellite development program relationship goes back to 1988.  The recent rainforest fires caused massive damage to the bio-diversity in the Amazon.  The hope is this highly advanced satellite system will monitor, protect and prevent such disasters.  For the Amazon, it seems like a little too late, but it's significant technology that could be very useful going forward for the Amazon and elsewhere globally. Innovation in Bilateral Sat Cooperation BRICS, standing for Brazil. Russia, India, China and South Africa, is the coalition of nations behind forwarding this satellite effort. It's an awesome...

Saving Rainforests - New Innovation

Global Award Winning Biodegradable Planter Source:  Inventor Pedro Rutman with his invention, Nucleario Planter Invention of Two Brazilian Brothers Replanting and saving tropical rainforests have proved very costly and laborious.  But that may be changing. Two Brazilian brothers have invented a biodegradable planter that can do it on its own.  Their device is inspired by nature. The planter maintains and grows seedlings all by itself with no human intervention.  It is the top award winner of the 2018 Global Design Challenge. Atlantic Rainforest in Brazil Brothers Pedro and Bruno Rutman grew up near Brazil's Atlantic Forest, which is one of the world's most biodiverse places. Only 7% of the original forest remains.  The brothers are nature enthusiasts and sportsmen who spend a lot of time there.  They have used their artistic, design, business and entrepreneurial skills to invent the Nucleario planter. Mimics Nature The planter mimics some of ...
