World's 1st Electrified, Autonomous Hypercar Source:  Geneva Auto Show 2018 Rimac's C Two: World's Fastest Car Croatian startup Rimac, with the financial backing of Porsche, Kia and Hyundai, has developed the world's first electrified, autonomous hypercar, the limited edition C Two. The vehicle was unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Auto Show as a concept close to production.  It received great reviews and orders for the $2 million vehicle sold out in record time.  The company is now closing in on delivering those orders by late 2020.  Porsche has at least a 15% investment stake in Rimac. VIZR & Smartphone Advanced Display Source: VIZR Heads-Up Display Gadget VIZR is an advanced navigation display that grips to the car dashboard. You put your smartphone on VIZR and it turns your smartphone into a transparent display that lets you navigate and drive while never taking your eyes off the road.  The heads-up display (HUD) uses the same technology that fighter pilots use to stay focused.  The system offers a number of apps to view such as navigational tools like GPS, street maps, traffic conditions and speed. FIXD - Car Health Monitor Source:  FIXD New Technology That Puts You in the Driver's Seat This monitoring device was invented by three engineering graduates from Georgia Tech.  They say it's a smart gadget that can save you thousands of dollars in needless car repairs.  FIXD is the first, easy to use car health maintenance monitor.  When a car warning light goes on, the device tells you if there is a problem, how severe it is, if it's an emergency and how much it will likely cost to repair the problem. Information is Power FIXD fits in below your car's steering wheel in the onboard diagnostic port and sends the analysis to your phone via an app.  Every car built since 1996 is required to have that port. It's the same port that mechanics use to diagnose your car.  But now, FIXD provides you with the readout to tell the mechanic exactly what your car needs or doesn't need. You might say it puts you in the driver's seat.

Lincoln's Electric Iteration on a SUV Theme Source:  Lincoln Corsair Corsair The New York International Auto Show just opened today.  One of the hottest new vehicles is Lincoln's Corsair, an electric vehicle in the lucrative SUV segment.  Lincoln says the vehicle demonstrates its "dramatic transformation" over the past few years.  You can take a look in the picture above. For Lincoln it's a smaller SUV but the company says it's bigger on design and features. 2 Models The Corsair SUV comes with Lincoln's co-pilot 360 driver assist package.  There are 2 models that are available:  a 2.0 liter engine with 245 horsepower and a 2.3 liter engine version with 285 horsepower. Emerging Technology Source:  Polymaker - XEV China's 1st 3D Printed E Cars This is something to look forward to in 2019.  China is promising to start selling the world's first 3D printed and produced electric cars.  They have been produced by a partnership between the Chinese 3D printing company Polymaker and Italy's X Electrical Vehicle (XEV).  The companies say the new e-car is going on sale in the spring of 2019 and at a price-tag of $10,000.  We'll keep you posted on this and other news innovation at  amazon.com/author/ekane
