FLYING WITH JETPACK ON A HOVERBOARD

Image
UK Inventor Does It  Source:  Additive X: SWNW McFly Personal Air Mobility A UK inventor Sam Rogers has taken to the skies on a hoverboard using a $432,000 jet flying suit he helped to design with a 3D printer.  The 24 year old is believed to be the first to fly a real-life hoverboard that was made famous in the 1989 blockbuster movie "Back to the Future" Part 2 that the character Marty McFly, played by Michael J. Fox,  flew.  A Delorean time machine was part of the movie and the real-life scene at a UK airfield. Jet Packing at 50 MPH Rogers is design lead and test pilot for the British aeronautical innovation companies Gravity Industries and Additive X.  The 1000 brake horsepower jet suit weighs 60 pounds.  There are 6 kerosene fueled turbines on the back and arms, each with 50 pounds of thrust.  The flight path is controlled by the human's body movements.  There are some controls in the grip handles. This unusual form of perso...

WHERE'S YOUR JETPACK?

New Mode of Personal Flying Mobility Source:  Jet Pack Aviation Jet Pack Aviation SPEEDER Jet Pack Aviation of California is in the business of inventing jet packs as a new means of transportation for consumers and the military.  Their latest flying model - the Recreational SPEEDER, they say, is like riding a motorcycle in the sky.  It's the first turbine powered, fully stabilized VTOL (vertical take off and landing) personal aircraft ever built.  Because it is fully stabilized, very little training to fly it is required.  The vehicle is in the flight testing phase.  It is a brand new form of personal air mobility. Consumer and Military Versions of SPEEDER SPEEDER has a maximum speed of 150 mph, a range/endurance of 30 minutes and maximum thrust of 1200 pounds.  As it's a VTOL, it can take off and land almost anyplace and can fly up to 15,000 feet in altitude. There are two recreational versions.  An ultralight version that requires no ...

Defying Gravity - Advanced Jet Pack

Gravity's Jet Pack Suit Source:  Gravity Industries Are You Ready for the Next Frontier in Human Flight? This is fascinating personal flight innovation.  Gravity Industries has designed an advanced jet pack suit.  It uses 3 microturbines.  The engines are the size of a loaf of bread.  They are attached to each hand and on the back.  The company says the engines are precisely controlled and powered by kerosene. Tested, Works, Patent Pending The suit carries enough fuel for 8 minutes of flight.  The engines generate a stable tripod of thrust totaling 1000 horsepower.  It's been tested and works.  The technology is patent pending.  The price is $440,000.  This Gravity suit has been cited as one of the top 100 innovations of 2018.  The company Gravity was founded in 2017.
