New Research, New DNA-Like Molecule New DNA Like Molecule Source:  Indiana University School of Medicine NASA Believes This Will Aid Search for Alien Life NASA funded research by a team of scientists from the University of Texas, Indiana University School of Medicine and elsewhere was just released.  The scientists have discovered a DNA like molecule that could be another source - an alternative  to DNA based life.  The scientists have synthesized a molecular system that like DNA can store and transmit information.  They say it's a genetic system for life that could be possible in other worlds. New Ways to Search for Signs of Life NASA's new molecular system is not a new form of life.  Researchers say it suggests scientists  looking for life outside of the earth may need to rethink what they're looking for. Searching for Planetary Life According to NASA officials, life detection is a growing and important goal of NASA's planetary scien...
