This is a first in the United Kingdom.  The zero-emissions, iconic buses were manufactured by Wrightbus of Northern Ireland, which also has hydrogen buses operational in Dublin, Ireland.  Hydrogen for the buses is being produced in Cheshire with big hydrogen production plans in the mix. Going Totally Zero Emissions The city's transportation operator, Transport for London, has a sustainability goal of operating only zero emissions buses by 2030.  London is diversifying its green bus portfolio by adding the hydrogen buses to its electric fleet.  London has 500 electric buses

South Korea's Ssangyong X200 Could Take on Jeep                                                   Source:  X200 Concept                                             Source: Ssangyong Models A Vehicle "Powered by Toughness" South Korean carmaker Ssangyong has just released sketch designs of its new concept, the X200.  The new design philosophy behind the concept is "Powered by Toughness", which Ssangyong says is the future for their company.  The company is using an eco-friendly electric powertrain for the vehicle, including for its J100 mid-sized electric model.  The company says that its new design philosophy is reflected in the vehicle's round headlights with LED accents and the blacked out grille with five, diamond shaped inserts.  There are huge air intakes on either side of the front bumper, squared body panels and a bulky shape -- all adding up to a "chunky" rugged looking vehicle. The Squad Car for $6,800                                             Source:  Squad Mobility Dutch Startup Squad Mobility Amsterdam based, Dutch startup Squad Mobility is taking pre-orders for its new electric, solar powered car - the Squad car.  It is a small, 2 seat EV designed for city driving.  The maximum speed is 28 mph.  It's about the size of a golf cart.  And, like a golf cart, it doesn't require a driver's license or a helmet. Tiny & Green The vehicle is small:  6.5 feet by 4 feet.  Three Squad cars can fit into a regular parking space.  Charged just on sun for a day, it has a range of 12 miles.  The developers say it doesn't require full sunshine to charge, which can be inconsistent in the Netherlands and in many other locations.  For longer trips, the car has a battery that can charge on a regular wall outlet.   Production Schedule In Europe, production of the car is scheduled for the 4th quarter of 2022.  It can be pre-ordered in Europe for 50 euros ($5

UC Berkeley Students' Solar Car Zephyr                                                                      Source:  UC Berkeley Heading into Road Race Competition at the American Solar Challenge Engineering students at UC Berkeley have built a road-ready, registered solar car called Zephyr.  To say the least, the vehicle is eye-catching.  It closely resembles a flying saucer.  But, it is a fully functional solar/electric powered car. Zephyr has been cleared for driving and has a California license plate.  The UC Berkeley student inventors are putting Zephyr into national competition.  It's heading for the 5 day, 1,000 mile road race between Independence, Missouri and Las Vegas, N.M. called the American Solar Challenge, which is a race among solar cars for their solar power endurance. Triphibian Electric Vehicle from China                                       Source:  Super Soco's Soco Xray Unique Form of Travel A unique form of travel, a triphibian electric vehicle, that can travel in the air, on land and on water, has just been unveiled at the annual Taobao Maker Festival 2021 in China.  The highly innovative vehicle is called Soco Xray and it appears to be a first.  It can even travel through ice and snow.  It is in the prototype stage and is under development. China's New Autonomous Flying Cars

 Xpeng's Voyager X2 - Next-G 5 & Voyager X1 - Next-G 4                                    Source:  Xpeng Huitian Voyager X2 Travelling by Electric Drone China's Xpeng Motors, an electric vehicle company, is developing a new, Next-G 5, electric, autonomous flying car prototype, the Voyager X2.  The innovation is coming from Xpeng's autonomous aviation unit Xpeng Heitech.  The EV has 8 propellers across 4 axes, offering multi motor backup.  It is also equipped with 8 independent battery groups offering a redundant power supply system for safety, should power cells malfunction.  This flying car has already completed its first crewed flight.  It is now under development along with its predecessor flying car Voyager X1, which is Xpeng's Next-G 4 prototype.  X1 was introduced earlier 2021.  X2 was recently unveiled.
