Red Planet Gets a Visitor from the United Arab Emirates Source:  UAE Hope Satellite  1st Arab Interplanetary Mission The United Arab Emirates is set to launch its Hope Mission to Mars tomorrow morning, July 20.  This is the first Arab interplanetary mission.  It's designed to demonstrate the UAE's diversified scientific and technology capabilities beyond its global oil production capabilities.  And, it is expected to contribute a great deal to scientific knowledge of the Red Planet. Japan Launch Site The Hope Probe will launch from Japan's Tanegashima Space Center for a 7 month exploratory mission to observe Mars.  The journey is designed to provide valuable new science about Mars.  The Hope satellite will orbit the planet, map it and send back data about it atmosphere, showing both daily and seasonal atmospheric conditions. UAE's Hope Mars MIssion Source:  Emirates Mars Probe/University of Colorado United Arab Emirates Going to Mars The United Arab Emirates has big space ambitions and plans.  It is going to launch a mission to Mars in 2020, making it the first Arab nation to launch an interplanetary mission.  The Hope Mars probe will deploy the Hope Satellite to study the climate on Mars. Destination Mars 2021 When the Hope satellite reaches Mars in 2021, it will show how Mars' climate conditions change throughout the year.  The satellite will be launched from Japan in June 2020.  It will reach Mars in February 2021 and collect data for two years.  The mission could be extended through 2025.  Interesting, a female scientist is a key player behind the mission.  Sarah Al Amiri is deputy project manager of the Mars Mission and Chairperson of the UAE Council of Scientists.  90% of the workers on the Emirates Mars Mission are under 35 years old. UAE's Largest Solar Farm in World

Oil Production Center of World Going Solar Source:  Noor Abu Dhabi Big Solar Projects Underway and More Planned The United Arab Emirates just turned on the largest, single solar farm in the world.  It's called Noor Abu Dhabi.  The farm has 3.2 million solar panels, generates 1.18 GW of electricity and can supply electricity to 90,000 people.  This facility will contribute to a cleaner UAE environment and enable the exportation of more oil globally. Ironic but Promising Renewable, Green Energy It is ironic that in the Middle East, the global center of oil production, big investments are being made by the UAE and others to launch huge solar energy farms.  Noor Abu Dhabi is clean, green, sustainable and offsets one million metric tons of emissions.  That is the equivalent of taking 200,000 cars off the road. UAE Astronaut Going to Space UAE Astronauts For Space Big Middle East Space Ambitions The United Arab Emirates just announced it will send the first astronaut from a Gulf Arab nation into space.   The astronaut will fly aboard a Russian Soyuz rocket to the International Space Station.  The launch is set for September 25, 2019.  UAE has two ready to go. Going into Space UAE has been launching its space program and is now  taking off. And, it has big ambitions. It launched its first UAE satellite KhalifaSat in October 2018 from Japan. And it wants to launch a probe to Mars in 2010.  Its big plan is to colonize Mars in 2117 and have a fully functional city there with 600,000 people..
