VoltAero Source: VoltAero's Cassio Electric Skies The VoltAero Cassio is an electric and hybrid aircraft created by two aviation industry heavyweights: former Airbus executive Jean Botti and test pilot Didier Esteyne. Based in France, they're currently testing the advanced electric plane with new, smart electric motors from Safran. So far, the testing by pilot Esteyne has been flawless. Multiple Uses The Cassio is designed for private users, air taxi and charter services, regional commercial, point to point flights and various business uses. Cassio has two electric motors on its wings and a propeller. The two Safran smart electric motors ENGINeUS are rated 45 kW with a peak of 70kW. The plane's 170 kW engine can also run on biofuel.
