New Consumer Reports Analysis                                                            Source: Tesla Another Great Reason To Go Electric According to Consumer Reports, electric vehicles, over a lifetime, are vastly less expensive to maintain than gas powered cars.  In fact, they cost half as much to maintain.  And, the savings are about the same whether the car is a hybrid or totally battery operated.  This is another great reason, on top of zero emissions, to consider going electric. Numbers Tell the Story Consumer Reports analysis breaks it down this way.  Over the lifetime of the vehicle, ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicles cost $0.061 per mile in maintenance and repair costs.  Electric battery cars like the Nissan Leaf or Tesla Model 3 cost $0.031 per mile and plug in hybr...

Robotic Satellite Fixing Spacecraft Source:  NASA New DARPA Space Initiative The US Department of Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, DARPA, has launched an innovative program to extend the life of US satellites orbiting in space.  In essence, DARPA is creating a robotic system to inspect, service, repair, improve and extend the lives of US satellites in orbit.  The program promises significant money savings and much longer and efficient use of satellites. Space Logistics DARPA is partnering with Space Logistics, a subsidiary of Northrup Grumman, to develop and deploy advanced robotic capabilities in space.   The first step is to develop what DARPA is calling a "DEXTEROUS ROBOTIC SERVICE".  The technology needed would increase satellite life spans, improve their reliability and resilience.  All of which would save the US government and space companies significant money lost when a satellite's operations breakdown...

Quicker Recovery from Sports Injuries

New Wearable Gadget Source:  Spryng Mimics and Accelerates Circulation Spryng wearable aids for muscle recovery were created to help injured athletes recover more quickly.  It accelerates injury recovery time by using pneumatic compression.  The pads which go around the lower legs are designed to be used for fifteen minute sessions. Mimics Legs' Natural Physiology The device can be used while you're in motion or at rest.  It is wrapped around the calves.  It massages the legs using pneumatic compression in a "Wavetech" pattern that the company says mimics the natural physiology of the legs.  It aids and accelerates blood circulation to speed up recovery time and flush out lactic acid. Muscle Recovery Gadget The company calls the gadget the world's most advanced muscle recovery tool and claims that it provides faster muscle recovery, better performance and improved circulation.  It mimics natural muscle contractions and increases oxygen su...
