America's Fastest Train Gets Faster

New Acela 2021                                                  Source:  Amtrak Speed Testing for 165 MPH America's fastest train, the Acela, is going to go faster.  It's being speed tested at a 30,000 acre facility near Pueblo, Colorado for its rollout in 2021.  The train will hit speeds of 165 mph in the Boston to Washington, DC corridor.  Amtrak is calling it "a gamechanger". The actual increase in speed is about 15%. More Energy Efficient The new Acela will use 20% less energy, carry 25% more passengers and cut 15 minutes off the train trip between Boston and Washington, DC which takes about 5 hours,  And, there is a lot of new technologies being incorporated into the Acela trains. High Performing Halo EV 2021 Kia's EV Concept "Vision" Setting New Standards at Affordable Price Kia plans to launch a high performance, all electric vehicle - the Halo - in 2021.  Kia is promising the EV will have long range, very high performance and ultra quick charging. And, very importantly, they say is will be reasonably priced at considerably below the cost of Tesla, Mercedes and BMW EV's.  Kia's goal is to establish its electric vehicle leadership by setting a very high bar in the EV global industry. Being all-electric, the Halo will have zero emissions. 11 New EV's by 2025 Source:  Kia's Concept HABANIRO Electric Car 2021 Dedicated EV South Korean automotive giant Kia is going electric in a very big way.  As part of its "Plan S", it's pouring $25 billion into electrification.  Kia will launch 11 new EVs by 2025 and it will launch a "dedicated" marque EV model targeted for usage in 2021.  Kia is going globally electric with a smart strategic plan behind its moves. Kia Plan S Their plan includes "Purpose Built" EV models that target corporate buyers, car sharing users, among others.  Kia says it will find most of the $25 billion investment into electrification by cutting spending on internal combustion engines.  Plan S is designed to transition Kia's business while continuously surrounded by two pillars:  EVs and mobility solutions. VW's Electric Muscle Car

Prototype VW ID GTX Source:  VW ID.4 Prototype in Camouflage GTX or Muscle Car VW is planning on using the GTX moniker, meaning muscle car, for high performance versions of its all electric lineup of vehicles rolling out in the 2020's. VW is keeping information tight on this and is even camouflaging images of the vehicle called the VW ID GTX. Expectations of the VW ID GTX The vehicle is expected to be very high performance, all wheel drive, with dual electric motors which should give the vehicle extra power and firmer grip on the road.  Reports indicate that a 2-door version of the ID.4 GTX could launch in Europe in 2021.
