Big Middle East Space Ambitions
The United Arab Emirates just announced it will send the first astronaut from a Gulf Arab nation into space.   The astronaut will fly aboard a Russian Soyuz rocket to the International Space Station.  The launch is set for September 25, 2019.  UAE has two ready to go.

Going into Space
UAE has been launching its space program and is now  taking off. And, it has big ambitions. It launched its first UAE satellite KhalifaSat in October 2018 from Japan. And it wants to launch a probe to Mars in 2010.  Its big plan is to colonize Mars in 2117 and have a fully functional city there with 600,000 people..
