Robot that Needs No GPS to Navigate
Aix Marseilles University Sun Guided, Stepper Robot
New Robotic Innovation
This robotic innovation is called Antbot. And it was created by a team of roboticists at Aix Marseilles University in France. These are small robots that follow the Sun and their steps to get back to base. They don't need GPS. That is the big deal. And they were inspired by desert ants' navigational systems.
Sensors
This new innovation is enabled by optical movement sensors. They measure how far the robot has gone and bring it back to a fraction of an inch to its base. This is impressive robotic technology. For more news stories on innovation, go to amazon.com/author/ekane
