Artificial Intelligence Smart Device
Johns Hopkins researchers have developed a smart stethoscope that uses AI to detect early signs of pneumonia.  The artificial intelligence powered, smart device listens for specific types of breathing to detect any sign of the disease. If a breathing problem is found, that enables the patient to get much earlier treatment.

Going to Market
The Johns Hopkins team are readying for market commercialization.  They've created a startup company Sonavi Labs to market the device.

Notable Breakthroughs
This digital stethoscope requires less precise placements on the body.  It can pick up significant breathing problems associated with early onslaught pneumonia a bit more widely.  It also has strong noise control management that allows it to be used in many, noisy environments.
