After a 25-year absence, Ford is bringing back its 4x4 classic Bronco. It's coming back as a family of SUVs not just as a model.  Sales started last year but the interest level in the vehicles continues to build.  The newest model is the Bronco Sport.  The new Broncos have rugged, off-roading good looks, hefty, all-terrain tires, very bold front grills and prominent fender flares.  All the doors are removable, and a removable hardtop can also be purchased for extra fun in the sun.

Standard Broncos

The standard Bronco is the 4x4's 6th generation and can be driven off-road, on-road, on city streets and highways.  The new Bronco Sport is a compact crossover, built on the same platform as the Explorer SUV, so it is particularly geared to commuting suburbanites.  The Sport has all-wheel drive and contains 5 doors.  The Broncos come with either a turbocharged 2.3-liter Ecoboost inline-four cylinder engine with 300 hp and 325 ft-lbs. of torque or a twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter Ecoboost V6 with 330 hp and 415 ft-lbs. of torque.  The more powerful engine comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission or a 7-speed manual gearbox.  The power goes to all four wheels. 

Bronco Sport

The top-of-the-line Bronco Sport has a turbocharged 2.0 liter inline-4 cylinder engine with 250 hp and 277 ft-lbs. of torque.  It has an 8-speed, automatic transmission.  Inside the Broncos are a digital gauge cluster and either an 8-inch or 12-inch infotainment screen.  In 2023, Ford is going to offer new trims for the vehicles that will include two-tone paint jobs and white grills to make the off-roaders even more stylish.  In terms of price, the Bronco start at $31,300 and start topping out at $68,895 for the Bronco Heritage Limited Edition.  For Ford, this is a very hot new product line with lots of history.  For more news stories like this, Breakthrough Concept Cars 2020's
