Mazda wants its sales ratio to be 40% EV by 2030.

Expectations

Automotive experts expect an all-electric Mazda Miata-like sports car to be produced by the late 2020's. They believe that Mazda will first roll out a hybrid version.  According to Mazda, the new concept showcases their commitment to enjoyable cars. Unlike the iconic Miata convertible, the concept has a fixed solid roof, along with a very low-slung silhouette, dramatic fenders and two, unmistakable gullwing doors.  And it appears to have an electric powertrain.

Mazda has committed to carbon neutral factories by 2035 and most interestingly zero fatal accidents by 2040.  Also, Mazda wants to hit EV sales targets starting with 40% of its sales by 2030.  It says it will introduce a new hybrid system and new EV models between 2025 and 2027 and accelerate the introduction of an array of EVs starting in 2028.  Their Vision Study of Motion is a big electric work in progress.  For more news stories like this, Future Modes of Travel 2020's
