Part of Lifestyle-Oriented EV Megatrend

Toyota has unveiled a number of new images of its new Compact Cruiser EV concept.  The vehicle is a boxy, compact off-roader with good looks and zero emissions.  In fact, it is the recipient of the prestigious 2022 Car Design Award for Concept Vehicles.  The vehicle is an outdoorsy beauty that was created by the Toyota Europe Design development team in Nice, France.  It is expected to go into production and is one of the most fascinating of the 16 upcoming battery electric concepts that Toyota and Lexus recently introduced. It's a prime example of the global automotive megatrend of consumers desiring EVs that reflect their lifestyle interests.

New Design

This vehicle is reminiscent of the iconic Toyota FJ Cruiser.  It is both retro and futuristic, smooth and rugged with a compact footprint. It has squared off fenders, strong body sections, retro white coloring on the wheels, new LED lights, good ground clearance and large skid plates for all types of outdoor adventures. Toyota has yet to provide technical details on the vehicle, other than it is all-electric and all-wheel drive.

Lifestyle Oriented

The new EV is targeted at a buying audience of young urban professionals that enjoy their leisure time outdoors. The Compact Cruiser EV is part of the megatrend of vehicles reflecting the driver's lifestyle interests.  It comes in a number of colors and accessory options like a roof rack, branch deflectors and auxiliary lights.  No launch date yet but it is getting rave reviews.  The Compact Cruiser EV is part of Toyota's $70 billion investment to have an all-electric lineup by 2030. Netting a Drone - US Army Countermeasure

US Army Invention - Drone Defense Source:  US Army Drone Netting Device Drone Netting Grenade U.S Army researchers have created a 40 mm grenade to protect the armed forces from menacing, enemy or rogue drones.  The defensive drone grenade takes out the drone with a weighted net. Countermeasure - Net Bagging a Drone The net is spring loaded and ejects from the front of the grenade when it nears the drone target.  The net can be triggered remotely by a person on the ground or automatically by an onboard proximity sensor.
