- Chinese electric car maker BYD has created the unthinkable - a fully electric and fully equipped electric car for less than $11,000
- Called Seagull, it poses a major price threat to Tesla in the huge China market
- Seagull is one of the best EV deals on the global market, and unfortunately it is not yet available in the US
- Range: 251 miles
- Recharge: from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes
- Sleek, aerodynamic, compact hatchback
- Can accelerate to 31 mph in 4.9 seconds
- Price range is $10,600 to $13,000
- By comparison, Tesla Model 3 starts at $33,000
- BYD is a company to watch as it is quickly becoming the dominant EV player in China.
TAKEOUT FOOD WITH ROBOT DELIVERIES
- Miami is a tourist mecca for sun, sand and fun, and now food delivery robots
- If you order an Uber Eats takeout in Miami, it is likely to be delivered by autonomous, sidewalk trotting robots
- The robot food delivery teams are the result of a partnership between the ride-sharing service Uber and robotics company Cartken
- The robots are remotely supervised
- It works simply: customers are told their food is on the way; they' re instructed to meet the robot on the sidewalk; customer cellphone can unlock the robot and then customer grabs the food
- Robots have 6 wheels plus sensors and cameras to avoid collisions
- Robots work indoors and outdoors
- Companies plan to expand operations in Florida and beyond.
