Walmart VR Goggles for HR

Virtual Reality Helping to Test and Promote Employees

Technology At the Hiring Edge
America's largest private employer and one of the world's biggest companies, Walmart, is using VR goggles to test the skill levels of employees.  VR is one of the data points they're using to test the skill levels and potential of employees to help determine if they may be a perfect fit for promotion.

Managerial Roles
Specifically, Walmart is using VR headsets to spot employees who are a great fit for promotion and  managerial jobs. The headsets put employees into real life situations like dealing with a difficult customer or giving a store tour to capture their abilities to manage retail environments.  The device is used to test the employees' decision making skills, their knowledge of the various store departments and their overall leadership skills.

VR Tool Helping Walmart Human Resources Spot Talent
This is one of many tools that Walmart HR executives are using to spot and promote talent.   It gives them a virtual reality sense of the level of maturity for leadership and customer service that an employee can deploy and has the potential to develop.  Walmart started testing this VR tech in 2017.  They are now using it widely throughout their operations.  For a free Kindle borrow of my book "How to Use AI & AR", go to amazon.com/author/ekane  ASIN: B07KBBQ44J
