Network of H-Buses Being Tested by Germany's Flix

Germanys FlixMobility, which is the parent company of bus company FlixBus, is about to test hydrogen fuel cell buses on long distance routes throughout Europe.  It would provide Europe with the first, widespread network of hydrogen powered, zero emissions buses.  Flix is working in tandem with electromobility company Freudenberg Sealing Technologies.  Flixbus was the first transport company to launch fully electric buses in Europe.  The company's leadership considers hydrogen long distance bus travel a key component of the future of sustainable mobility.

Tech Specs

The Germany company says its fuel cell vehicles will have a range of at least 500 km and will refuel in 20 minutes.  They also will match long distance bus standards for acceleration and power. At the moment, fully electric buses are not practical for long distance travel primarily because of battery weight and the weight of the vehicles. According to FlixBus and Freudenberg Sealing Technologies, a hybrid system that properly combines fuel cells and battery is the best green technology, long distance bus solution.

Hydrogen Bus Fleet Testing to Begin

The two companies are about to put the pedal to the metal for European travelers.  They will roll out a fleet of hydrogen buses are a test pilot.  FlixBus has long distance bus networks in Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria and Croatia along with cross-border routes in England, Spain, Scandanavia and Eastern Europe.  To take a look at many more new, green travel innovations, go to https://read.amazon.com/kp/embed?asin=B09J1N32PB&preview=newtab&linkCode=kpe&ref_=cm_sw_r_kb_dp_YJ3H0NFJ9ZQ65GHRHA3V
