ELECTRIC POWERED PLANES
- The electrification of aircraft to start eliminating greenhouse gas emissions from jet fuel is 1 of the major hopes of environmentalists & many aviation experts
- Burlington, Vermont-based, electric aircraft manufacturer Beta Technologies is becoming a major player in the industry with the development of its 2nd electric passenger and cargo jet, the CX300
- CX300 is a fixed wing model of its vertical takeoff and landing eVTOL aircraft, Alia-250
- CX300 takes off and lands like a conventional plane and already has received orders for purchase from Air New Zealand & companies like United Therapeutics, Bristow & more
- CX300 has a range of 386 miles, has flown more than 22,000 miles and is completing evaluation flights with the FAA and by USAF & US Army pilots
- The all-electric, zero emissions aircraft for passengers & cargo will hit the commercial market in 2025.
EYES ARE MORE THAN THE WINDOW OF THE SOUL
- New scientific research is demonstrating that the eyes are not just the windows of the soul, but also provide early warning signs of cognitive health disease like Alzheimer's
- Physicians can see directly into the nervous system by looking into the back of the eye at the retina & the optic nerve
- Now scientists at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center have discovered that the eye provides innovative new clues & potential new therapies for the onset of Alzheimer's before - in fact years before - any symptoms occur
- The Ceders-Sinai team have identified protein profiles & structural changes in the retina associated with Alzheimer's
- Specifically, the changes in the retina correlate with changes in the brain caused by Alzheimer's
- This is very promising research to identify and possibly treat Alzheimer's before symptoms manifest themselves.
