MAZDA UNVEILS NEW SPORTS CAR OF THE FUTURE

  • The Mazda Iconic SP was just unveiled in Japan and is being hailed as futuristic and gorgeous.  Here's what we know:
  • It's a hybrid rotary-powered sports car
  • Engine runs on carbon neutral fuel but can also run on a variety of fuels such as hydrogen
  • In case of a power outage, it can act as a power supply service for your appliances
  • Here are some specs:

  1. 365 hp
  2. Nearly 165" long, 73" wide and 45.3" tall
  3. Nearly 3600 pounds
  4. Pairs an unspecified number of electric motors with a twin-rotor rotary engine
  5. Rotary engine re-charges the battery
  6. Low center of gravity that enables great handling

  • Mazda seems committed to the production of small, light sports cars like this one, which is sleek, stylish and very aerodynamically designed.




ARE ANY JOBS SECURE FROM AI?

  • Surprisingly, the answer is yes; some jobs are AI-secure!  3 global forecasts reach the same conclusion:  blue collar jobs like constructions workers, barbers and caregivers are the most insulated against losing their jobs to AI.  Here's what we know:
  1. The researchers found that office workers are most at risk for loosing their jobs
  2. Safest jobs include skilled trades like plumbers, intensive manual labor and positions that require a combination of physical skills, knowledge and social work like nurses and caregivers
  3. Over the next decade, the fastest growing jobs will be healthcare, transportation, green renewable energy & hi-tech manufacturing
  4. Overall forecast:  14 million jobs will be lost to AI; hundreds of millions of white-collar jobs will be disrupted; 1 billion knowledge workers will be impacted by the AI revolution.
  5. These forecasts have just been released by the World Economic Summit-Accenture; US Bureau of Labor Statistics and McKinsey.

US' LARGEST OFFSHORE WIND FARM GETS FINAL APPROVAL

  • The Biden Administration has given final approval to the US' largest off-shore wind project in history, off the coast of Virginia. Here are some key facts:
  1. Dominion Energy's $9.8 billion Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project is fully approved and is the nation's largest off-shore, commercial wind farm
  2. Will power 660,000 households
  3. Located 23.5 nautical miles off Virginia Beach
  4. Biden Administration says it will cut energy costs, create new jobs and fight Climate Change
  5. CVOC will supply 2.6 gigawatts of energy to the national grid
  6. This is the 5th offshore wind project approved by the Biden Administration, which in total will provide 5 gigawatts to the national grid
  7. US is playing catch-up with Europe on wind power
  8. Europe is decades ahead of the US with 25 gigawatts generating capacity as of 2020, according to Wind Europe.

Netting a Drone - US Army Countermeasure

US Army Invention - Drone Defense Source:  US Army Drone Netting Device Drone Netting Grenade U.S Army researchers have created a 40 mm grenade to protect the armed forces from menacing, enemy or rogue drones.  The defensive drone grenade takes out the drone with a weighted net. Countermeasure - Net Bagging a Drone The net is spring loaded and ejects from the front of the grenade when it nears the drone target.  The net can be triggered remotely by a person on the ground or automatically by an onboard proximity sensor.
