  • In Singapore, BMW is showcasing its new i Vision Dee Concept- a spectacular piece of new automotive, mobile digital technology
  • Here are some of the key facts:
  1. Embodies the most recent and most important, highly advanced new technologies
  2. Talking car that communicates in real-time, expressing emotions
  3. Has the ability to shift colors
  4. Uses the Neu Klasse platform, BMW's all-electric platform
  5. Body surface is comprised of 240 individually controlled panels, which enables the vehicle to display a huge range of patterns and colors within seconds
  6. The windows can also display animations or an avatar of the owner
  7. Four types of displays are offered including driver-relevant information only or virtual reality
  8. Recognizes the owner, intelligently adapts to them and displays their avatar on driver side window
  • BMW's Managing Director for Group Asia indicates BMW's future is electric, circular and digital
  • EV concept was unveiled at CES 2023 and is now on a global tech tour.

UK EXPANDS CARBON CAPTURE IN NORTH SEA

  • Britain is expanding its fight against greenhouse gas emissions while trying to maintain its energy supply independence
  • British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is implementing a big expansion of carbon capture and storage in the North Sea
  • 2 new carbon capture & storage clusters off NE Scotland & Humber in NE England will store carbon dioxide, captured from industrial facilities, under the North Sea and support 50,000 new jobs
  • These are the third & fourth carbon capture and storage clusters in the UK to be completed by 2030
  • PM Sunak is also simultaneously going to grant new oil and gas drilling licensing near currently drilled areas to increase British oil and gas supplies
  • The UK is taking a dual approach to the Climate Change environment:  working to achieve a net-zero economy by 2050 while drilling home-produced hydrocarbons to ensure their energy security.

Netting a Drone - US Army Countermeasure

US Army Invention - Drone Defense Source:  US Army Drone Netting Device Drone Netting Grenade U.S Army researchers have created a 40 mm grenade to protect the armed forces from menacing, enemy or rogue drones.  The defensive drone grenade takes out the drone with a weighted net. Countermeasure - Net Bagging a Drone The net is spring loaded and ejects from the front of the grenade when it nears the drone target.  The net can be triggered remotely by a person on the ground or automatically by an onboard proximity sensor.
