  • Trident LS-1 is an electric car-boat hybrid that flies over the water like a plane.  It's a technological first.  Here's what we know:
  • It's a revolutionary electric car-boat hybrid - the world's 1st hydrofoil electric car-boat
  • Invented and developed by Poseiden AmphibWorks of San Diego and Miami; founder and CEO Steve Tice
  • Uses hydrofoils to fly over the water at 3-feet
  • Designed for smooth travel on water to prevent seasickness
  • On land it drives on 3-wheels
  • On land can travel up to 60 mph
  • To operate it, you need a driver's license and proper boat registration
  • Can drive directly into the water
  • Expected to appeal to people who live on the coast, near rivers and on islands
  • Trident LS-1 is designed for easy day-to-day commuting on land and sea
  • For instance, in a city like Boston, this would enable you to hop off Storrow Drive and onto the Charles River for your commute to the office
  • Company is also looking into using the vehicles as water taxis
  • Cost projected in the $100,000 to $130,000 range
  • Has all standard safety features
  • Center drivers seat with 2 passenger seats in the rear
  • Goes into prototype production later this year
  • Look like an extraordinary new way to travel.

GOOGLE USING AI & COMPUTING POWER AGAINST CC

  • Google is using AI and its powerful computing capabilities to map and track the world's biggest methane emitters and make it public.  Here's what we know:
  • Google is partnering with the environmental nonprofit Environmental Defense Fund on the Climate Change project
  • They'll use data from the satellite MethaneSAT that launches next month
  • MethaneSAT is a partnership led by the EDF, Harvard, the New Zealand Space Agency, among others
  • Using emissions data from space, they'll create a map of the world's biggest oil and gas methane emitters
  • Using Google's AI and computing power, they'll drill down on nearby oil and gas infrastructure to determine the type of equipment - like oil tanks - that are the big leakers of greenhouse gases
  • The pollution data and the polluters will be available later this year on the Google Earth Engine platform, which is free to the news media, researchers and nonprofits
  • The purpose is to expose significant sources of climate warming emissions to the world.

Enjoying the Environment and Not Hurting the Environment Easy Eddy weighs 37 pounds and fits into most cars, SUVs and boats. And it can support weights up to 200 pounds. Netting a Drone - US Army Countermeasure

US Army Invention - Drone Defense Source:  US Army Drone Netting Device Drone Netting Grenade U.S Army researchers have created a 40 mm grenade to protect the armed forces from menacing, enemy or rogue drones.  The defensive drone grenade takes out the drone with a weighted net. Countermeasure - Net Bagging a Drone The net is spring loaded and ejects from the front of the grenade when it nears the drone target.  The net can be triggered remotely by a person on the ground or automatically by an onboard proximity sensor.
