CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY ANIMAL COMMUNICATIONS EXPERT SAYS HE CAN TALK TO ANIMALS
Source: Brewster Kane & Stock
- My Weimaraner Brewster has a few choice words about me to get off his chest. Here's what we know:
- Animal Communications scientist Dr. Arik Kershenbaum says that everything from a dog's whine to a dolphin's whistle has meaning
- Dr. Kershenbaum says animals utilize communications methods because it's useful to them
- Here are some examples:
- Wolf howling and variations thereof could convey loneliness, fear or happiness
- Bird's singing could convey they own a territory
- Cat's yowling can mean someone is in its territory
- Dr. Kershenbaum records the animal's communications, puts it through specialized software which provides a graphical analysis and then connects it with what the animal is going through (i.e. regarding the cat, a second cat was introduced in the home)
- Regarding my dog Brewster, he whines and gives me sidelong glances every happy hour for my not sharing with him
- If Dr. Kershenbaum does a study on him, the recording of Brewster's remarks will have numerous expletives deleted.
