- Roboticists at Caltech have created what is undoubtedly the world's most mobile robot that flies, drives, walks and a lot more
- In fact, using its AI and tremendous flexibility, it reconfigures its body to achieve 8 distinct types of motion
- It's called M4 for Multi-Model Mobility Morphobot
- M4 can autonomously assess the environment that it's in and choose the most effective combination of motions in order to maneuver through it
- Here's what M4 can accomplish:
- Rolls on 4 wheels
- Converts its wheels into rotors and flies
- Stands on 2-wheels to see over obstacles
- Walks by using its wheels like feet
- Uses 2 rotors and 2 wheels to roll up steep hills
- Can tumble with dexterity and more
- According to the Caltech team, M4 has many uses from transporting injured people to the hospital to exploring planets
- The team's primary goal with M4 is to push the boundaries of locomotion for robots and they certainly have.
- One of Britain's wealthiest businessmen and Climate advocates Dale Vince has started a new business, Ecojet, which he calls the world's 1st all-electric airline
- By 2025, Ecojet will begin commercial passenger flights with a 19-seat aircraft and a 70-seat aircraft
- Planes will be retrofitted with hydrogen-electric powertrains for zero-emissions flights
- The eco-friendly, vegan business tycoon will start operations with flights from Southampton, UK to Edinburgh, Scotland
- He'll then ramp up the schedule to include Europe, the US and Asia
- Everything possible about Ecojet is environmentally correct including the plant-based food on board, no plastic utensils and staff in environmentally friendly uniforms
- Vince, who has invested more than one million British pound sterling ($1.3 million) in Ecojet and is pulling in investment capital, hopes it will be the start of an aviation revolution by making a zero-emissions airline operational for the first time.
