PEUGEOT'S INCEPTION CONCEPT: FUTURE OF DRIVING
Source: Peugeot
- For Peugeot, the Inception concept, just unveiled in London, showcases the simpler, more refined design approach that will be showcased in its new models starting in 2025
- But the EV showcases a lot more: the future of driving surrounded by brand new, futuristic technologies, including:
- Charging by induction, which is wireless charging by driving over an electrified pad
- Next-G intelligent cockpit
- Steering by wire that eliminates the traditional steering wheel
- Dashboard replaced by "Hypersquare" control with digital electric touch controls and tablet screen replacing mechanical links
- When autonomous, Hypersquare controller retracks and a large panoramic screen slides up from the floor
- Expected range of nearly 500 miles
- 0 to 62 mph in less than 3 seconds
- Hands free, autonomous driving
- Pillarless wide-open doors
- Low, sleek aerodynamic design
- All-electric
- 100 kWh battery
- 2 electric motors with 1 on each axle
- Four-wheel drive
- 680 hp
- 800 V technology
- Charger extends range 93 miles in 5 minutes
- This EV concept by Peugeot is one of the most powerful harbingers of the future of driving for all of us.
OUR AI CHATBOT CAN INTERVIEW YOU NOW
- Big new trend: AI chatbots are being used more and more to screen job applicants. Here are some key details:
- Mostly being used to screen applicants for blue collar jobs
- Being used with increasing frequency in industries like fast food, restaurant, retail, hospitality and healthcare
- AI chatbots can create hiring efficiencies, especially by eliminating candidates who aren't qualified
- However, chatbots can cause glitches like failing to schedule next steps and failing to understand people with speech impediments
- There is concern about biases being built into AI by those training them such as bias against applicants slow to respond or who use certain vocabulary words
- Legislation has been filed to regulate AI chatbot hiring tech
- Conclusion: AI chatbots can trim costs and free-up staff from wading through hundreds, if not thousands of applicants; and while it isn't perfect, legislation and modifications are underway to improve algorithmic hiring tech, which is rapidly becoming a new reality.
NASA & DARPA TO LAUNCH NUCLEAR POWERED ROCKET
- As soon as 2025, NASA & DARPA, the US Defense Department's Advanced Research Projects Agency, will launch the 1st nuclear powered rocket
- Here are the key facts on the nuclear-powered rocket called DRACO:
- $499 million launch mission will be the 1st test in orbit of a nuclear spacecraft
- New type of rocket propulsion system powered by nuclear fusion reactor
- Nuclear fusion power system is 3 to 4-times more efficient than current systems
- Cuts space travel time down significantly- just 45 days from Earth to Mars
- This is envisioned to be a gamechanger in space travel
- NASA and DARPA have selected Lockheed Martin to design, build and test the prototype
- The test rockets will stay in orbit 300 years at altitudes up to 1,240 miles above the Earth, "long enough for the radioactive fuel to decay to safe levels".
