MERCEDES IS UPSCALING MAYBACH

  • Mercedes is developing a number of totally unique, ultra exclusive Maybachs, including the new "Myth", "Legend", GS, G-Wagen and even a Supercar based on the Vision One-11 concept.  Here's what we know:
  1. Maybach is Mercedes Benz's top and most prestigious brand in its portfolio and it's about to go even more luxurious and high end
  2. MB's goal with the new Maybachs is to outperform and outdo Rolls Royce and Bentley
  3. These new, upcoming vehicles will be custom-built and bring personalization to a new level
  4. Some key features that are expected:  world-class performance, luxury and style, autonomous, highly advanced technologies, extremely good-looking design, charging in under 5 minutes
  5. Bottomline: Mercedes' think tank is currently developing top-of-the line new vehicles with a whole new dimension of luxury driving.

3D PRINTED SALMON IN SUPERMARKETS FOR FIRST TIME

  • In the hopes of curbing overfishing, Revo Foods is 3-D printing salmon for grocery store market sales.  Here's what we know:
  1. It's lab-grown, 3D printed, vegan salmon
  2. Called The Filet, it uses 77% to 86% less carbon than wild caught
  3. Vienna-based Revo Foods has just started selling it in grocery stores in Austria
  4. They plan to start selling it in US supermarkets next year
  5. Revo says producing the product is less energy intensive and more sustainable
  6. Revo CEO says we are entering a time when food is being crafted exactly according to customer needs
  7. The 3D printed salmon content is 9.5 grams per 100 grams compared to 20 grams per 100 grams of wild caught
  8. Other 3D printed foods include chicken and beef
  9. Revo Foods' salmon is fungi-based which raises a question:  will fish eaters enjoy eating a fishy manufactured fungus?

NEW, MORE CONVERSATIONAL ALEXA

  • Amazon is using new, Large Language Model generative AI to innovate a more powerfully conversational version of the Alexa voice assistant.  Here's what we know:
  1. Hundreds of millions of Alexa enabled devices are in use around the world, according to Amazon
  2. For them, an important update is coming as Amazon is using new generative AI to enable a more conversational and glibber Alexa that functions "like talking to a friend"
  3. Alexa will be more expressive in her conversations, such as being happy to report that the home team, like the New England Patriots, just won a game
  4. This will be accessed through a new section of the Alexa app "Let's Chat", where she'll know to turn up the heat in a connected home, if you say "I'm cold"
  5. The new conversational Alexa is being tested with a selected group of customers by Amazon
  6. No release date has been set as of now
  7. This is important new tech from Amazon as it asserts its AI leadership in the central marketplace of AI for everyday life.
