  • University of Otago researchers say it's likely that personality traits extend to food.  Several studies involving hundreds of people have been done.  Here are some examples:
  1. Impulsive people crave salt like pretzels and potato chips
  2. Spice and meat lovers are fun people who seek thrills
  3. Sweet lovers are probably insecure
  4. Fruit snack lovers tend to be imaginative, creative and insightful
  5. Dark chocolate, cranberry and coffee bean snack lovers could be psychopaths
  • If your snack preferences are #1 through #4, it's okay to snack outside in public; but if your preference is #5, you may want to wait until you get home.

  • The US Defense Department's Advanced Research Projects Agency - DARPA - and Aurora Flight Sciences, a research subsidiary of Boeing, are developing a radical new plane concept with no traditional wings and tail.  It could change fundamentally change future aircraft design and operations.  Here's what you need to know:
  • This is a first-of-its-kind aircraft design
  • A plane that flies with no traditional wings and no tail
  • It flies by the pilot controlling the air flow around the plane
  • Nothing has been innovated like this in the 120 history of aviation
  • It's called the X-65
  • Maximum speed is Mach 0.7 or 537 mph
  • It has a diamond-shaped, wing-like configuration on the top of the aircraft for air flow control
  • There are no control surfaces that traditional planes have like rudders, flaps and stabilizers to climb, descend, bank and roll
  • Test flights start in 2025:
  • What are the benefits if this design proves successful?
  • It cuts the weight and complexity of the plane, greatly reduces the number of moving parts that can break and improves performance and efficiency.
