Sunlight+Nanoparticles=Better Visability

Clearer Vision from Switzerland

Source:  ETH Zurich

ETH Zurich Innovation
An innovative coating developed by scientists at ETH Zurich defogs transparent surfaces by heating them with sunlight. Rather than using electricity, the coating heats up the surface with sunshine.  Sudden drops in temperature or increases in humidity cause the fogging on your glasses or windshield.

Gold Nanoparticles
The coating is transparent and is composed of gold nanoparticles in titanium oxide.  The nanoparticles absorb the sunlight and heat the surface 5.4 degrees to 7.2 degrees F.  That prevents condensation that causes fogging.

Ideal for Windshields and More
The new coating is ideal for windshields, windows and wearables like glasses and goggles.  No battery or electricity is needed and the coating is durable.
