Unique Electric Snow Vehicle For Fun, Zero Emissions Rides

The Aronso E-Trace is a unique all-electric vehicle combination of a snow sled and an electric mountain bike.  It's the invention of French startup Arosno, which calls it the world's 1st electric snow-bike for fun, zero emissions rides in the snow.  This new EV was unveiled at EuroBike 2021 in Germany.  Unlike a high octane vehicle like a snowmobile that pollutes a pristine snowy environment, the E-Trace is zero-emissions, puts your foot to the pedal, travels at a safe and reasonable speed and lets the untrained have some great fun pedaling it across the snow.

Safety With No Training Needed

The E-Trace is so stable, according to Aronso, it can be driven without any training on all types of snow.  The company says it is much safer and offers none of the risks of riding an electric mountain bike on snowy terrain.  The driver pedals the E-Trace like an e-mountain bike uphill and the EV is said to offer high maneuverability with plenty of torque.

Very Cool Electric Vehicle Technology

There are two skies on the front of the EV for stability and maneuverability.  The rider sits low in an ergonomic seat in a recumbent position to work the pedals.  The pedals trigger into action a rear sprocket wheel by a chain.  That starts the Camso snowmobile-style rubber track and off you go.  Going downhill is pedal free.  The pedals have to be worked going uphill, which is great exercise for the driver.  Aronso says the E-Trace can go up an incline as steep as 60% but of course that depends on the physical condition of the snow biker to pedal up a 60% incline.

E-Motorized Assistance

This is an e-bike for the snow, so there is motorized assistance.  The pedals get assistance from a  250-W Sachs RS motor, that is powered by a 48 volt lithium battery with a range of 28 miles on a single charge to give the driver support along the snowy trail.  It can reach speeds of 16 mph and has a maximum torque of 110 NM. The 16 mph speed makes it legal in the EU without any extra authorizations.  The e-snow-bike weighs 99 pounds and can support up to 265 pounds.  You can also get a rear rack for an extra battery for longer miles in the snow. The base price is $7,895 and it can be ordered for delivery in November 2022.  To take a look at many more new EVs, go to https://www.importantinnovations.com/2021/09/mercedes-mind-controlled-car-concept.html
