                                        Super:  Drako Motors

Super Electric Supercar

California startup Drako Motors has unveiled an all-electric, 2,000 hp super SUV named Dragon.  The SUV was engineered in San Jose and designed in Italy.  Drako Chief Designer Lowie Vermeesch is famous for his Ferrari and Maserati designs and he created Dragon. Dragon is being hailed as a hypercar in a luxury SUV format. It uniquely bridges the power and speed of a hypercar with the convenience and versatility of an electric SUV.  This powerful and super-fast electric vehicle is also more than capable of the fun of off-roading.

Incredibly Fast Vehicle

The Dragon is faster than an Olympic sprinter.  It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in a blistering 1.9 seconds.  It can run a quarter mile in 9 seconds and is capable of hitting speeds of 200 mph.  The power comes from its unique powertrain.  Drako's Drive OS architecture has a 4-motor powertrain connected to a Drako in-house battery system which pumps out 2,000 hp.  The company hasn't provided details on range on a charge.  The EV also has a 3-stage suspension system that gives it superior performance for on-road and off-road travel.  The company says that the vehicle "feels more like a spaceship than a car".

Design

The Dragon has a bold, good-looking design.  It has a sleek, sculptured carbon fiber body with prominent curves and gullwing doors.  The interior is all about luxury with a lot of fine leather and world-class space. It is designed to compete in the Aston Martin, Bentley and Lamborghini category at a price estimated to range between $160,000 to $230,000.  The company will start taking reservations for purchase of the vehicle by the end of 2022.  Dragon is the second addition to Drako's lineup.  The first model is the GTE, which is a $1.2 million limited edition hypercar that can hit speeds of 206 mph. Drako Motors was founded by two Silicon Vally software entrepreneurs, Dean Drako and Shiv Sikind, who are fixated on creating world-class cars.  For more news stories like this, Daily Vehicle Briefing
