  • This dog training program is a whole new take on the game of fetch. And, it's the talk of the canine community. A Minnesota man has been training his labs to fetch his cold beers from the fridge for 40 years. Over the years, he's trained 5 labs to fetch his beers! Here are the facts:
  • Kris Scheller has trained his dogs since the 1980's to fetch a cold beer for him from the fridge and bring it to him
  • That means open the fridge, grab a beer not a Coke, securely close the fridge and hand the can over to Kris
  • The newest dog Sport 5 is so environmentally correct he even recycles the metal cans
  • The 5th pooch in Scheller's top dog series of pet dogs, Sport 5 uses a foot lever to open and close the recycle bin with his paw
  • Kris uses a treat-based system to train
  • The 5 pet dogs' abilities are so impressive they've appeared on TV over the years
  • Some are able to pick up and answer the phone
  • Now if I could train my Brewster to pick out and open a bottle of wine for me, that would be perfect.

DARPA'S EXPRESS TRAIN ON THE MOON

Source:  Stock & NASA

  • The US Defense Department's Advanced Research Projects Agency DARPA is funding the creation of moonshot concept - a train system for the Moon.  Here are some key facts:
  • DARPA just awarded aerospace & defense contractor Northrup Grummon a contract to create a concept for a Moon train system
  • Northrup is tasked with determining if it is physically and financially possible
  • One option being looked at is a Maglev levitating train moving through vacuum tubes, which would protect the train from abrasive lunar dust
  • The train has a number of purposes:  transport astronauts living on the Moon, help in the process of building necessary infrastructure and enable commercial business opportunities on the Moon
  • NASA's Artemis missions aims to have humans living on the Moon by 2025; no human has been on the Moon since 1972
  • A lunar express train is viewed by NASA as important to sustain living on the Moon in order to provide transport to humans and help build accommodations, power and communications
  • This is one of DARPA's visionary projects
  • DARPA's project successes include the internet, GPS and a lot more.
