AI PICKS MUSIC HITS WITH NEAR 100% ACCURACY
- AI can identify a hit song with 97.2% accuracy, according to new scientific research
- The researchers, from California-based Claremont Graduate University, believe the technology can be used to predict what TV shows, movies and even social media posts are going to be a smash
- The scientists say they applied machine learning to the neurophysiologic data of 33 volunteers who listened to a selection of new music that included rock and hip-hop
- Based on that data, AI, which evaluated the data in 800 different was, spotted hit songs with near 100% accuracy
- Without AI analysis, the same data was 69% correct in spotting hit songs
- The researchers say the neural activity of 33 people can predict, through AI analysis, whether or not millions of others will listen to & love the song, turning it into a 700,000 plus internet streaming service listener hit
- The AI's accuracy is amazing & the use is very valuable as 168,000 new songs are released every week with less than 4% making it to the "hit" category
- Although it could put music moguls like Simon Cowell into a defensive mode.
