BEST SIDE TO CHOOSE IN A COIN TOSS

  • We all thought that a coin toss offers a 50-50 chance of winning; turns out that's not the case, according to new science.  Here's what we know:
  1. Coin flipping dates back to the Roman Empire to decide a number of issues like who goes first
  2. Famously today every football game has a pre-game coin toss to decide who kicks off and which team receives
  3. Stanford University researchers flipped various coins from 46 countries over 350,000-times
  4. The results found that a coin is likely to land nearly 51% of the time on one side
  5. According to Stanford University mathematician Persi Diaconis: "The coin has a higher chance to land on the side it started."
  6. Evidently, the coin spends more time in the air with the initial side facing up
  7. So, if your coin face is tail before being flipped, you might want to choose tail or vice versa if it's head to hedge your chance to win.

  • The US, its allies and China are locked in a race to develop AI powered weapons.  This arms race could determine the global balance of power.  Here's what we know:
  1. Experts are calling this race to build autonomous weapons the defining defense challenge of the century
  2. The battle for dominance is heating up with China pushing the development of new AI weapons aggressively
  3. AI powered autonomous weapons include soldier robots, subs, drones, combat vehicles, warships, planes and more
  4. It is expected that military tech powered by AI will forever change war and the global balance of power
  5. This global AI arms race is centered on China and the US and is expected to play out over upcoming decades.

TOYOTA'S 1ST ELECTRIC LAND CRUISER

  • Toyota just previewed its first electric Land Cruiser.  The iconic brand is big, boxy and also made for off-roading.  Here's what we know:
  1. The Toyota Land Cruiser SE is a concept EV that's big, bold, boxy and the first electrified Land Cruiser
  2. Contains 3 rows of seats for up to 7 people
  3. It's 203" long, 78" wide and 67" tall
  4. Wheelbase is 120" - 8" longer than a regular 2024 Land Cruiser
  5. No specifics yet on the powertrain except that it will "offer a high torque driving experience"
  6. Expected to have 2 electric motors and all-wheel drive.

Enjoying the Environment and Not Hurting the Environment Easy Eddy weighs 37 pounds and fits into most cars, SUVs and boats. And it can support weights up to 200 pounds. Netting a Drone - US Army Countermeasure

US Army Invention - Drone Defense Source:  US Army Drone Netting Device Drone Netting Grenade U.S Army researchers have created a 40 mm grenade to protect the armed forces from menacing, enemy or rogue drones.  The defensive drone grenade takes out the drone with a weighted net. Countermeasure - Net Bagging a Drone The net is spring loaded and ejects from the front of the grenade when it nears the drone target.  The net can be triggered remotely by a person on the ground or automatically by an onboard proximity sensor.
