AMAZON MISSION TO BRING FAST INTERNET TO ALL
Source: Amazon & Stock
- Amazon is launching two test satellites into space today as part of its mission to bring internet connectivity around the world from space via a satellite mega-constellation. Here's what we know:
- Mission is called Project Kuiper, valued at a $10 billion investment
- Purpose is to bring fast, affordable internet service around the world to the underserved and unserved
- It's a long-term initiative to bridge the digital divide
- Rival is Elon Musk's Starlink
- Starlink has deployed 5000 satellites
- Kuiper plans on deploying 3200
- Satellites beam a broadband signal to Earth
- This is Amazon's and founder Jeff Bezos' first satellite foray into space
- Target dates: aiming to start broadband service by the end of 2024 and deploy half of its network by 2026
- Kuiper and Starlink offer the potential for fast, inexpensive, reliable and ubiquitous internet service, which is technology everyone would welcome.
CYCLOROTOR eVTOL AIR CAR
- After 15 years of development, Austria-based CycloTech has unveiled its CycloRotor eVTOL flying car. Here's what we know:
- Unique, new flying car technology based on the company's proprietary cyclorotor propulsion system
- Called CruiseUp and this flying vehicle has no wings; it relies on thrust
- Distinctive, 2-seat eVTOL air car
- Designed for city travel
- Rotors work like helicopters blades, continuously vary their pitch and offer very fast thrust vectoring
- Runs on 6 cyclorotors
- Top speed currently is 93 mph
- Range on a charge is 62 miles
- Target is 2035 for full operations.
MARYLAND - GLOBAL UFO HOTSPOT
- Maryland has become a global UFO hotspot with 2,000 UFO sightings since 1995. Here's what we know:
- These nearly 2000 sightings are categorized in a database
- The UFO's had different shapes including circles, ovals and diamonds and appeared to be orbs, discs and fireballs
- The sightings continue as very recently multiple reports of glowing orbs in the sky over Ocean City, MD have been filed
- There is no explanation from federal officials as to why Maryland appears to be a favorite cruising destination for UFO's - perhaps it's the oceanfront beauty and woodsy countryside
- This year, California, too, has had unprecedented reports of sightings - 15,000 reports on 200 UFO's
- These Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) have the interest of NASA, which is putting a lot of effort and expertise behind a new scientific effort to identify the many reports of UFO sightings in the US.
