Impossible Burger 2.0 - Innovation Mission Accomplished
Talk about Mission Impossible against 4,400 examples of breakthrough innovation at CES. Impossible Burger, a vegan burger, is the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show's top award winner in innovation. It won "Best in Show", "Best of the Best", "Most Unexpected Product" and "Most Impactful Product". The awards have been re-echoed globally. Digital Trends magazine named the Impossible Burger 2.0 a triumph for food engineering. They're not alone. Engadget called it a vegan burger so tasty that it could eliminate the need for meat. Apparently, the Impossible Burger 2.0 also won the people's choice award at the 2019 CES in Las Vegas.
Impossible Foods
The noteworthy burger is made by Impossible Foods, a startup based in Redwood City, CA, founded by Dr. Patrick Brown, Professor Emeritus at Stanford. The burger is a plant based meat replacement that's meatier. They use soy instead of wheat to take on various forms of vegan ground meat including for burgers, lasagna and tacos. In the US, the vegan burgers are rolled out in 20 high end restaurants. Impossible Foods' 5,000 partner restaurants are putting it on their vegan menus. Beyond that, it's available in Hong Kong and Macau.
2019: Year of the Vegan
The Economist calls 2019 "The Year of the Vegan." Impossible Burger 2.0 is being called an instant success. They are now targeting the Holy Grail of Vegan - a tasty vegan steak. And Dr. Brown is scaling up his business fast.
