Robots Delivering
It's a 4 legged delivery robot that can walk packages right to your front door.  And, it's an ingenious way to automate the delivery of food and packages, especially in urban areas.  It's a new robotic and autonomous car delivery system developed by the Swiss robotic company ANYbotics in collaboration with the German automotive company Continental.  ANYmal created a lot of buzz at the CES 2019.

High Five Paws
ANYmal weighs 65 pounds and can carry up to 22 pounds.  The system was demonstrated at CES.
The delivery robot hopped out of Continental's autonomous vehicle CUbE.  The robodog jumped over a scooter, walked up a flight of stairs, used a paw to ring the doorbell and placed a package on the doorstep.  It then did a little celebratory dance.

Very High Tech Tease
The robodog can move a meter in a second.  It has wide angle cameras, sensors in its feet and advanced LIDAR to map its location and navigate.  Continental says it wanted to "tease" the delivery industry with the system.  It certainly has and is also a  bit of a tease about when it is going to take the system to market..  For more news on robotic and other innovations, go to amazon.com/author/ekane
