  • Whiners seek social support and may find it in friends and relatives
  • Co-rumination (excessive discussion of negative issues) was found to be associated with life satisfaction and happiness

  • MIT scientists are using AI machine learning to analyze and decipher the complex communications system used by sperm whales.  They appear to have their own alphabet.  Here are some facts:
  • MIT scientists have discovered a highly sophisticated communications system that sperm whales are using to speak with each other
  • It's very similar to human phonetics
  • The scientists believe it's comprised of the whales' own alphabet
  • They say their songs or calls "are capable of expressing a wider space of meanings than previously thought"
  • They speak by coda, which are bursts of clicks
  • MIT has detected 9,000 codas, which the whales embellish with tempo, rhythm changes & more
  • Sperm whales have 1 of the largest brains, live in groups, delegate duties and are having very complex conversations in the depths of the ocean
  • Thanks to MIT scientists, their complex social world is being unveiled
  • Look out Taylor Swift - when these crooner's sentimental songs are released who knows where they'll be on the charts!
