APPLE'S EYE-CONTROLLED iPHONE & iPAD
Source: Apple- You might say the "Eyes Have it!!" Apple just announced new AI-powered technology that enables users to control their iPhones and iPads with their eye movements. Here are some key facts:
- Called Apple Eye Tracking, it uses the front facing camera to calibrate the function wanted in seconds
- Apple is rolling it into its IOS 18 update with no extra hardware required
- Specifically designed for people with physical disabilities but works for anyone
- Enables the user to access and control physical buttons, do swipes and other gestures by eye movements
- Apple Eye Tracking will be available later this year
- Apple is also offering a number of new technology features including for those with ALS, cerebral palsy and even enabling the deaf to "hear" Apple music.
NEW TYPE OF ELECTRIC PASSENGER PLANE
- An aerospace startup is developing an electric plane to transform 4 to 8 hour drives into short hop plane trips. Here's what we know:
- The company is Dutch start-up Electron Aerospace
- Luxurious electric passenger plane
- Will be delivered in 2028
- 5-seater
- Range of 466 miles
- Electric engine is quieter than a vacuum
- Twin pusher propellers and forward canards
- Cruising speed of 259 km/h
- Needs just a short runway for takeoffs and landings
- Promises zero emissions
- Aerodynamically designed like an albatross
- Purpose: convert 4-to-8-hour ground trips into sub-regional flights
- Plane will complete certification by the end of 2027
- Company has a number of orders for the plane
- They're also looking for more investors to bring the plane to market.
