ADMINISTRATIVE ASST.: "YOUR PET PARROT WILL SPEAK TO YOU ON VIDEO CALL NOW"
Source: University of Glasgow & Stock
- A University of Glasgow study shows parrots prefer live video calls to pre-recorded videos. Here's what we know:
- Experts say that parrots know the differences between live video and recorded videos
- Parrots were taught to make live videocalls on Facebook Messenger and prefer talking to their friends that way
- Scientists say this finding could pave the way for an animal-centered internet, allowing pets to interact with each other and humans
- Also, while interacting with friends live, parrots exhibited behaviors they normally engage in with other parrots in real life
- With recorded messages and, of course, no response from a friend, the chatty, clever birds quickly lost interest
- Great - so now we have to wait our turn for our chatty pet parrot to get-off their video calls with friends to use video call Facebook Messenger.
