  • Hundreds of dogs in multiple states in the US have been hit by a severe and mysterious respiratory illness.  Veterinarians are racing to determine the cause.  Here's what we know:
  • It's a severe respiratory illness that can lead to pneumonia and in some cases death
  • Veterinarians have not established the cause
  • Cases reported in 21 states
  • 200 cases in Oregon alone
  • Much more severe and lasts longer than kennel cough

  • Some experts are beginning to think it's an unknown bacteria
